Klimt and Klee Fashion and Decor

Austrian artist Gustav Klimt (1862–1918) is best known for his opulently gilded art nouveau portraits of women that epitomize fin-de-siècle Vienna. Klimt's primary subject was the female body. Paul Klee was a Swiss-born German artist (1879-1940) known for his simple stick figures, suspended fish, moon faces, eyes, arrows, and quilts of color, which he orchestrated into fantastic and childlike yet deeply meditative works. Gustav Klimt's style had elements of Symbolism and Modernism, combined with his own creative imagination and elaborate flourishes. While Paul Klee's main influences were cubism, expressionism and children's art. Klimt's and Klee's paintings continue to astound a century later.
